Wolfpack Earns Podium Finishes at Camel City Invite, Virginia Tech Challenge

RALEIGH - The NC State track and field teams competed in a pair of meets on Friday, earning at least one podium finish at each.
CAMEL CITY INVITE
Sophomore Kelsey Chmiel competed in the women's 5000m at the Camel City Invite, earning a second-place finish with a time of 15:58.22. The sophomore's time was good for the fourth-best mark in program history and the 11th-best time in the nation. The mark additionally checked in at third-fastest in the ACC.
Katelyn Tuohy, Alexis Postell, Anna Vess and Elly Henes made up NC State's women's DMR team at the meet and posted a time of 11:15.90. That mark was also good for the fourth-best in NC State history. Currently, the time is second-best in the conference and 10th-best in the NCAA.
VIRGINIA TECH CHALLENGE
Mikieja Covington earned a first-place finish in the women's 60m hurdles, running an 8.67 to set a season-best mark.Â
Rounding out NC State's podium finishes on the day was junior Kayla Beasley, who posted a 55'3.5" (16.85m) in the women's weight throw to earn third place in the event.
