For more than 80 years, the NC State Marching Band has brought the sound, spirit and heartbeat of the Wolfpack to Carter-Finley Stadium and beyond.
The sound that turns gameday into a Wolfpack tradition.
Also known as the “Power Sound of the South,” the NC State University Marching Band represents the energy, pride and tradition of NC State. With more than 400 members, the band helps make Carter-Finley Stadium, Lenovo Center, and Reynolds Coliseum some of the most electric environments in college athletics.

From pregame to halftime to the final whistle, the Power Sound of the South brings the soundtrack of the Wolfpack to life. Their performances connect generations of fans, students, alumni and student-athletes through the songs and traditions that define NC State.

The Power Sound of the South has represented NC State on some of the biggest stages in school history, including numerous bowl games and special performances.
- Performed at the 1942 Rose Bowl
- Invited to perform for the President of the United States during a visit to Reynolds Coliseum
