
Pack Set to Compete at Virginia Challenge, Duke Invitational

RALEIGH – The NC State track and field team is set to compete at the Virginia Challenge and Duke Invitational on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20.

The Pack earned five top-10 finishes on the final day at the Tennessee Relays. On Friday at the Tennessee Relays and Charlotte Invitational, the team combined for six podium finishes, including event titles in the men's and women's 1500m invite at the Charlotte Invitational earned by Nevada Mareno and Patrick Sheehan.

Two Pack competitors have earned ACC Women's Track Performer of the Week honors early in the outdoor season.
Nevada Mareno earned the honors after an impressive first-place finish in the 1500m invite at the Charlotte Invitational. The Raleigh native finished the race in 4:17.45. That mark sits at No. 10 nationally, No. 1 in the conference, and No. 3 in school history.
Garnering the honors after her first meet of the season, Gabriele Cunningham ran her way to three podium finishes at the Black & Gold Challenge. The senior earned two first-place finishes (100m hurdles, 100m dash) on the weekend.
