Pack to Compete at Iowa State, Clemson this Weekend

RALEIGH --Â The NC State men's and women's track and field teams will compete at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, Feb. 8 and at the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, S.C., Feb. 8-9.

Lauren Evans and Elly Henes were named ACC Women's Field Performer of the Week and ACC Women's Track Performer of the Week.
Out-throwing her own shot put school record, Evans collected two wins at the Virginia Tech Elite. She recorded a 55'3.75" (16.86m) mark in shot put competition and a 67'2.75" (20.49m) mark in weight throw competition. Evans has placed on the podium in all 12 events she has competed in this season, including 10 first-place finishes.
Henes clocked a converted time of 9:01.72 in the women's 3000m, the fastest in the nation among qualifying times, at the Camel City Elite in Winston Salem, N.C. She was the first collegian in the race to finish, placing fifth.Â
Pack in the Top 15
The Pack has five student-athletes with six marks that rank in the top 15 qualifying times nationally this season.

Elly Henes' 9:01.72 mark in the 3000m ranks first, while her 15:43.48 mark in the 5000m ranks 10th. Running a 6.58 in the 60m dash, Cravont Charleston is tied for the third-fastest time in the nation. Clocking a 7.25 in the 60m dash, Gabriele Cunningham holds the eighth-fastest time. Dominique Clairmonte posted a 9:14.66 in the 3000m, 12th-best in the country. Recording a 55'3.75" (16.86m) mark in shot put, Lauren Evans sits at 13th.
