Hartman, Adams Climb to NCAA Top 6 in Strong Weekend for Wolfpack Track

RALEIGH, N.C. – Grace Hartman and Tyson Adams each secured NCAA Division I No. 6 rankings in their events to wrap up a successful weekend at the Penn Relays and LSU Alumni Gold meets.

Penn Relays

Hartman competed in the 1500 meters, clocking a 4:07.19 to shatter the Penn Relays meet record. She now ranks No. 6 in NCAA Division I this season and No. 2 on the program's all-time top-10 list. Angelina Napoleon followed with a fourth-place finish in 4:13.02, a personal best that earned her the No. 7 spot on the program's all-time list.

Makala Wright recorded a season best in the hammer throw, placing 10th with a mark of 56.26m (184' 7").

Ta'Honny Exum finished ninth in the shot put with a throw of 14.69m (48' 2.5").

Jakerra Covington placed seventh in the javelin with a throw of 41.38m (135' 9").

Luke Thierfelder also earned a top-10 finish in the javelin, throwing 59.74m (196' 0") to place 10th.

LSU Alumni Gold

Adams finished second in the long jump with a leap of 7.90m (25' 11"), placing him No. 6 in NCAA Division I this season and No. 4 on the program's all-time list.

In the women's triple jump, both Mariama Hunt and Jayda Hunter posted top-10 finishes. Hunt placed fifth with a mark of 12.40m (40' 8.25"), and Hunter followed in seventh at 12.35m (40' 6.25").

Audrey Jenkins achieved a season best in the high jump, clearing 1.65m (5' 5") to finish ninth.

NC State will head back to Durham, N.C. for the Duke Twilight meet to close out its regular season on May 4.
