Sadie Engelhardt Named ACC Track Athlete & Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Sadie Engelhardt earned Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Week and Track Athlete of the Week honors after a standout indoor mile performance at the ASICS Sound Invite on Feb. 14.

Engelhardt posted a historic 2:23.84 in the 1 Mile ASICS event to finish second overall while also breaking the NC State and ACC records, previously held by NC State cross country and track & field alumna Katelyn Tuohy (4:24.26).

Her time ranks No. 5 in Division I for the 2025-26 season and No. 6 all-time in NCAA Division I history.

During the race, Engelhardt surpassed beat her previous mile time of 2:27.53, which now stands No. 34 all-time in Division I history.
