Pack Set to Begin Postseason at ACC Indoor Championships

RALEIGH - The NC State track & field team is set to begin postseason action tomorrow as it opens competition at the 2024 ACC Indoor Championships in Boston, Massachusetts.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack is coming off of a successful weekend at the Virginia Tech Challenge and the JDL Last Chance Invite.Â
At the JDL Last Chance Invite, Sam Bush shaved 20 seconds off of her personal best time in the 5000m, clocking in at 15:32.67 to take first and establish a meet and facility record. Her time is also the third-best in school history.
Grace Hartman (15:37.04) and Amaris Tyynismaa (16:05.74) finished third and fourth, respectively. Hartman's time was also good for a new PR.
Makala Wright finished first in the women's weight throw at the VT Challenge with a throw of 18.53m. Sydney Freeman also recorded a top-five finish, taking fourth with a mark of 16.74m. Mahkayla Hart rounded out the top-five with a throw of 16.47m.
Jakerra Covington leaped her way to a fifth-place finish in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.58m.
PACK IN THE POLLS
NC State currently holds four National top-20 marks heading into postseason competition.Â
Bush ranks sixth in the country in the 5000m with a converted time of 15:25.59. Hartman's converted time of 15:29.92 is ninth on the NCAA Indoor Qualifying list.
The women's DMR team of Angelina Napoleon, Kate Putman, Bush, and Hartman ranks 17th with their mark of 10:55.91 they achieved at the Eagle Elite Invite.Â
Bush also ranks 20th in the country in the 3000m with a time of 8:56.31 which she recorded at the Valentine Invite.
