The Wolfpack is coming off a successful weekend in which the grouping of Savannah Shaw, Timara Chapman, Sam Bush, and Katelyn Tuohy earned a new school record for their performance in the women's DMR. They finished first at the JDL DMR invite with a time of 10:55.49, which was also tabbed a facility record. Their converted time of 10:48.55 ranks second overall on the NCAA Indoor Qualifying List.
NC State also competed in the Virginia Tech Challenge this past weekend with three athletes claiming podium finishes in the weight throw. Nathan Lau earned a new personal best and placed second overall with his toss of 17.15m (56'3.25"). In the women's weight throw, Makala Wright finished second with her throw of 18.10m (59'4.75"), while Sydney Freeman (17.47m (57'3.75") ) earned a new personal best and finished third.Â
