
Pack Wraps Up Camel City Invite Competition

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The NC State track & field teams concluded action at the Camel City Invite on Saturday, competing in distance events.
The meet opened for NC State with the women's 3000m where all three Pack competitors charted personal bests. Alyssa Hendrix posted a 9:37.87, Heather Holt ran a 9:38.21 and Jenna Schulz rounded out the group with a 9:39.61.
Miles Ally represented NC State in the men's 3000m, also recording a PR of 8:36.02.
Kelsey Chmiel, Allie Hays and Savannah Shaw suited up for NC State in the elite section of the women's 3000m, all running marks that rank in the top-10 nationally. Chmiel placed second in the race, breaking the Camel City collegiate record in the event with her time of 8:59.96. The mark ranks seventh nationally after conversion (8:55.37).
Hays posted a 9:05.12, a time that ranks ninth in the country after conversion (9:00.49), while Shaw ran a 9:06.22 for the 10th-best mark in the country after conversion (9:01.48). Chmiel's time checks in as third-best in NC State history while Hays' ranks seventh and Shaw's ranks 10th.
Sam Bush competed in the elite section of the women's mile, recording a 4:40.09 that converts to 4:37.35, good for the 17th-best time in the nation.
Anna Vess rounded things out with a first-place finish in the women's mile, running a 4:45.84.

NC State continues its indoor season at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational, hosted by Liberty, and the Tyson Invitational at Arkansas Feb. 11-12.
