NC State Posts Impressive Performances at Virginia Challenge, Tom Jones Memorial

RALEIGH - The NC State track & field teams continued their outdoor seasons on Friday, competing in meets at Florida and Virginia.
TOM JONES MEMORIAL
Junpai Dowdy recorded a personal-best time in the men's 200m at the Tom Jones Memorial, running a 21.35.
VIRGINIA CHALLENGE
Hannes Burger began action for the Wolfpack distance runners, competing in the men's 3000m steeplechase. The junior posted a PR of 8:51.63 for the sixth-best time nationally.
Redshirt senior Elly Henes clocked the second-best time in program history, recording her personal-best mark of 4:15.68 in the women's 1500m. The time checks in as ninth-best in the country.
Hannah Steelman broke a school record and posted a top time in the nation for the second consecutive meet, posting a 15:30.87 in the women's 5000m that was additionally a personal, meet and facility record.Â
Katelyn Tuohy tabbed the fifth-quickest time in program history with her 15:47.38 in the event, and her time checked in as eighth-best in the country. Mariah Howlett's 16:13.84 and Gionna Quarzo's 16:17.45 in the event both were personal records.
In the men's 5000m, Ian Shanklin posted the sixth-fastest time in the Wolfpack record book with a 13:48.20 that was additionally a PR. Joe Bistritz clocked the 10th-best time in NC State history with a personal-best 13:50.99.
