Wolfpack Completes First Day at Hokie Invitational

NC State sets career marks, tallies podium finishes
BLACKSBURG, Va. --Â The NC State men's and women's track and field teams recorded seven personal-bests and four podium finishes on the first day at the Hokie Invitational at Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va.Â
Dominique Clairmonte (4:38.55) and Elly Henes (4:38.75) posted women's mile times that are currently the third and fourth-fastest times in the country and sit at No. 2 and No. 3 in NC State women's track and field history.
Throws: Lauren Evans earned a place on the podium, finishing second in women's weight throw competition with a 49'1.5" (14.97m) mark.
Sprints: Gabriele Cunningham advanced to the 60m hurdles final, posting a time of 8.36 in both the prelims and finals. With a time of 38.96 in the 300m, Jada Griffin posted a time that sits behind only Cunningham in the NC State record books. Cunningham set the school record last weekend at the Clemson Orange & Purple Elite with a time of 38.78.
Distance:Â Clairmonte and Henes led the Pack in the women's mile, crossing the finish line in first and second place. For the men, Joe Bistritz recorded a career-best 4:04.39 for a silver-medal finish.
Jumps: Jamar Davis set a career-best in the men's triple jump with a mark of 49'11.75" (15.23m). His performance on Friday was a top-10 performance in the school's record books.
MEN'S POLE VAULT
Javonne Antoine competed unattached and posted a 41'2.25" (12.55m) mark in women's triple jump.
