
NC State Sets Its Sights on Husky Classic, Tyson Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C. – The nationally ranked NC State track field teams will send groups of athletes to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Tyson Invitational and Seattle Wash., for the Husky Classic.
The competition level between the two meets will be high and could bring out strong marks for the Pack.
Tyson Invitational – Live Results
A group primary consisting of sprinters, jumpers and throwers will face off against elite company at the Tyson Invitational. The meet features some of the best jumpers and sprinters in the country.
The men's long jump will feature four the NCAA's top-10 ranked jumpers along with professionals. Jonathan Addison and Jarrion Lawson, who are currently tied for the NCAA's best mark, are among the elite field of the athletes.
All Americans Nicole Chavis, SeQuoia Watkins Alexis Perry and Tiana Patillo will continue their indoor seasons. Chavis recently re-set the school record in the weight throw, while Watkins, Perry and Patillo are coming off strong performances at the VT Elite.
Chavis and Watkins will compete in the weight throw, while Perry compete the 60m hurdles and long jump. Patillo is set to line up in the 400m dash.
Quashawn Cunningham, Shannon Patterson, Will Krehnbrink, Chris Garrick and Gabbi Cunningham set season-best marks at the VT Elite, which are ranked top-five in the ACC. They will look to keep up the momentum as they compete in their respective events.
Husky Classic – Live Results
NC State's top distance runners will be back in action at the Husky Classic, squaring off against some of the strongest competition in the country.
Current national qualifiers Erika Kemp and Luis Vargas will compete. Vargas will run in the 5,000m race, while Kemp will compete in the 3,000m race. Both will run in highly competitive heats, competing against current national standouts.
All-Americans Graham Crawford, Meron Simon and Megan Moye will all race. Crawford will compete in the 3,000m, as well as Simon, who is making his UW homecoming. Moye will run the 800m after posting a mark of 2:08.58 at the VT Elite last weekend.
In addition to the current qualifiers and All-Americans, a host of the Wolfpack's top runners from the cross country season will be back in action.
Wolfpack women Rachel Koon and Alyssa Rudawsky will aim for 3,000m marks, and Bakri Abushouk, Patrick Sheehan, Sebastian Hanson and Sam Parsons will run the men's 3,000m seeded races.
True freshmen Phillip Hall and Sarah Kanney will run in the mile, while Wolfpack alumna Kenyetta Iyevbele will chase an Olympic Trials mark in the 800m.
