RALEIGH, N.C. - Preseason No. 9 NC State will see its first full-team competition of the season this weekend, as the Wolfpack travels to Troy, N.Y., to compete in the Journeymen Collegiate Classic on Sunday. Unlike previous years where this event was a dual match format, this year it will be a round-robin event where opponents are predetermined for each student-athlete.
Seven of the 16 teams that will be in action are ranked in this week's USA Today/NWCA Coaches Poll. Participating teams include: Arizona State, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Lock Haven, Rider, Long Island, Ithaca, Ohio State, Lehigh, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Buffalo, The Citidal and Courtland.
NC State will be sending 14 wrestlers to N.Y. this weekend:
125 - Fr. Wade Cummings and Fr. Charlie Lenox
133 - #14 R-So. Sean Fausz and R-Jr. Robbie Rizzolino
141 - #5 Jr. Kevin Jack
149 - #15 R-Sr. Sam Speno and R-Jr. Beau Donahue
165 - R-Jr. Brian Hamann
174 - Fr. Nick Reenan and R-Sr. Lee Davis
184 - Jr. Nicky Hall
197 - R-So. Malik McDonald
285 - R-Sr. Mike Kosoy and #19 Jr. Michael Boykin

Some members of the Pack saw action last weekend. Senior Max Rohskopf pinned #4 Brian Murphy of Michigan to win his match at the NWCA All-Star Classic - the only ACC wrestler to win his bout and the only match of the 10 to end with a pin. Rohskopf was named the first ACC Wrestler of the Week. Also, several freshmen wrestled unattached at the Southeast Open. Wade Cummings (125), Hayden Hidlay (157), and Thomas Bullard (165) all won their weight classes, and eight finished in the top-six in their weight classes overall.
