Luke Thierfelder Finishes Third in Javelin on Day One of ACC Outdoor Championships

LOUISVILLE, KY - NC State opened the first day of the ACC Championships, competing in eight events.
Luke Thierfelder earned the Wolfpack men six points after finishing third in the javelin with a mark of 63.14m. The third-place finish earned him his first-team All-ACC honors.
James Coleman and Xavier Branker finished third and sixth, respectively, in the 400m hurdles prelims. They qualified for finals, which will take place on Saturday at 6 pm.
On the women's side, Brooke Rauber and Sadie Engelhardt will move onto the 1500m finals after finishing fifth and sixth, respectively in prelims.
Briley Bickerstaff closed out the night, earning second-team All-ACC honors and three points for the Wolfpack women after finishing sixth in the 10,000m with a time of 33:24.88.
