RALEIGH, N.C. – In front of more than 1,000 fans, NC State women's soccer (2-6-3, 1-1-1 ACC) battled to a 1-1 draw with No. 7 Florida State (7-0-2, 3-0-1 ACC) Sunday afternoon at Dail Soccer Stadium. Jade Bordeleau converted a penalty kick in the 81st minute to put the Pack in front, nearly snapping FSU's streak of 63 consecutive matches with a goal, before the Seminoles equalized in the closing seconds.
From the start, the contest was physical with Florida State pressing forward, but NC State's back line held firm. The Seminoles fired eight first-half shots, while goalkeeper Olivia Pratapas collected two saves to preserve the scoreless frame. The Pack's best chance of the half came in the 28th minute when Erica Roberts drove down the left side and tested the keeper from just outside the box.
After the break, FSU continued to apply pressure with a 13-3 shot advantage, but it was NC State that struck first. In the 81st minute, Bordeleau calmly buried the Pack's first penalty kick of the season to give the Wolfpack the lead.
The defense held until the final moments, but with just 35 seconds remaining, FSU's Wrianna Hudson collected a throw-in from Jordynn Dudley and tucked a shot inside the near post to secure the 1-1 draw.
