Two Punch Tickets to Eugene on Day Two of Regionals

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The women of the NC State track and field program took the field for their first day of competition at the NCAA East Regional hosted by the University of Kentucky Thursday afternoon.
Grace Hartman and Amaris Tyynismaa secured their spots at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track Championships in Eugene, OR in the 10,000m final. Hartman finished the semifinals in fourth place with a time of 32:53.98 and Tyynismaa finished in fifth with a time of 32:54.14. They are the first members of the Pack to punch their tickets to the championship.
Sam Bush earned an automatic qualification for the 1500m quarterfinals after completing the first round in 4:12.75 to place fourth overall and second in her heat. She will return to the track on Saturday at 5:15pm.
Jirah Sidberry finished 15th in the long jump but recorded her second longest jump of the season in Lexington. She finished with a jump of 6.14m.
The men will return to action Friday, with field events beginning at 2pm in Lexington.
