Pack Earns Five Event Victories on Final Day of Shamrock Invite

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The NC State track and field team returned to action at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invite yesterday with five athletes winning their respective events.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Jumps
The Pack picked up a pair of victories in the men's and women's long jump events. Jamar Davis earned first place in the men's competition with a jump of 15.12m and Jirah Sidberry won the women's event with a mark of 12.49m.
Judd Armstrong took third place in the men's high jump with a leap of 2.03m. Fellow jumper Kyzaiah Stone jumped into a tie for fourth place with a mark of 1.93m.
In the women's high jump, Jakerra Covington came in fifth with a jump of 1.58m and McKenna Moritz finished one place later, taking sixth with a 1.53m jump.
Sprints
Ally Henson earned a first-place finish in the women's 100m hurdles final. She took gold after clocking in at 13.73. Henson also ran in the women's 100m final and finished fourth overall with a time of 12.05.
In the men's 4x400m relay, the grouping of Lance Patterson, Jamar Davis, Quentin Clarke, and Xavier Branker came in second place with a clock-in of 3:15.55.
The men's relay team consisting of Jamar Davis, Judd Armstrong, Kyzaiah Stone, and Lance Patterson finished third in the men's 4x100m relay with a time of 41.64.
Xavier Branker won the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 52.98. On the women's side of the race, Allison Payton came in fifth after running 1:06.53.
Lance Patterson recorded a podium finish in the men's 400m, clocking in at 48.28 to take third and set a new PR. Quentin Clarke also ran and took home a top-10 mark, running a time of 49.05 which earned him ninth place.
In the women's 400m, Kyra Durham finished 10th and set a new personal best with a time of 59.73.
With a time of 21.58 in the men's 200m, Myles Epstein took eighth overall place.
Throws
Ta'Honny Exum provided a strong performance in the women's shot put. She turned in a throw of 13.94m to finish first overall and grab the second event victory of the day for the Pack.
Nathan Lau threw 46.09m in the men's discus throw to finish third overall.
UP NEXT
The Wolfpack returns to action on Thursday, March 28 for the opening day of Raleigh Relays.
