Pack Returns to Action Friday at Adidas XC Challenge in Cary

RALEIGH, NC - The NC State cross country team is set to return to action on Friday, September 15 as it officially opens the 2023 season with the Adidas XC Challenge at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC.
MEET INFORMATION
Date: Friday, September 15
Location: WakeMed Soccer Park Cross Country Course
Time: Men's 6k - 5:15 p.m. Women's 5k - 5:55 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Although originally scheduled to compete in a scrimmage, the NC State cross country team unofficially kicked off the season on Friday, September 1 at the "Friday Night Lights" Elon Opener.
Wesley Larson and Zach Hughes finished 11th and 12th in the men's 6k with times of 17:57.8 and 17:58.0, respectively. In the women's 4k, Caroline Murrell clocked in at 14:02.9 to finish 15th, Olivia Haas came in 25th with a time of 14:30.1, and Sierra Collins placed 50th after running 15:14.0.
PACK IN THE POLLS
After holding the number one national ranking throughout the entirety of the 2022 campaign, the NC State women's cross country team returns as the number one team in both the USTFCCCA National Preseason Coaches' Poll and the ACC Preseason Poll. The women's squad is seeking to capture its third-straight National Championship, seventh-straight NCAA Regional Championship, and eighth-straight ACC Championship heading into the new season.
The men's program opens the season at #21 in the country according to the USTFCCCA National Preseason Coaches' Poll and #6 in the ACC Preseason Poll.
