NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named the NC State women's cross country team the 2025 NCAA Division I National Scholar Team of the Year on Thursday afternoon. In addition, five Wolfpack student-athletes earned 2025 USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.
This award marks the fourth time in five years that the NC State women have been recognized as the National Scholar Team of the Year. The honor follows the program's fourth NCAA National Championship title and includes the team's excellence in the classroom, highlighted by a cumulative GPA of 3.60.
Five members of the national championship squad were named to the All-Academic team: Grace Hartman, Bethany Michalak, Angelina Napoleon, Brooke Rauber and Fleur Templier.
Hartman was NC State's second-highest finisher at the 2025 NCAA Championships, placing sixth with a time of 18:52.6. Michalak and Napoleon also earned All-American honors, finishing with the top 40 alongside Hartman. All five athletes saw action in both the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship and the NCAA Championship.
To qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.
