GETTING THINGS STARTED
After a successful 2023 outdoor campaign, the Wolfpack is set to return to the track for the first time since June when they competed in the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Austin, TX.
The Pack will be taking a group of distance runners to Boston for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. Sam Bush, Hannah Gapes, Grace Hartman, Gionna Quarzo, Amaris Tyynismaa, and Leah Stephens will be among those running for NC State this weekend after helping capture the program's third-straight cross country National Championship on November 18.Â
Brett Gardner and first-year member of the Pack Toby Gualter will be representing the men's program in Boston. The duo also ran for the Wolfpack at the 203 NCAA Cross Country National Championships and helped guide the men's program to a #17 final National ranking.
A group of throwers will be heading to the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem to represent the Red and White.Â
Makala Wright leads the women's grouping after establishing a top-10 time in school history in the indoor weight throw and breaking the school record for the outdoor hammer throw last season.Â
Nathan Lau will be the sole male thrower for the Pack this weekend. The sophomore is coming off of an impressive rookie season in Raleigh in which he finished as high as second in the weight throw last indoor season.Â
