Day One of Bob Pollack Invitational Packed with PRs

CLEMSON, S.C. - The NC State track and field program opened competition on the first day of the Bob Pollock Invitational with four athletes setting new personal-best marks.
MULTI-EVENTS
In the women's pentathlon, Timara Chapman recorded a top-three finish in each of the five events, totaling 4005 points for second place. Her mark of 4005 points is now the eighth-best in the country.
After winning the 800m with a time of 2:20.33, the graduate student tied a career-best in the high jump with a 1.70m (5'7.00") leap, earning her second place in the event. She also finished second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.74.
SPRINTS
In the 60m prelims, senior Alex Lang finished second with a time of 6.70 to advance to the final while Cameron Murray finished eighth, setting a new personal best of 6.76.
In the final of the 60m, Lang recorded a new personal best time of 6.61 to win the event. His new time is tied for third-best all-time at NC State and tied for eighth-best in the nation.
Murray beat his personal best in the 60m for the second time in one day, recording a time of 6.74 (6.740) to take fifth place in the final and tie the fifth-best mark in school history for the event.
Senior Josh Brockman finished second in the men's 60m hurdle prelims with a new personal best time of 7.69 - a time that ranks second in Wolfpack history and is tied for third mark in the country. He finished third in the finals at 7.72.
THROWS
In the women's weight throw, Mahkayla Hart earned 10th place with a new personal best of 18.13m (59'5.75"). This ranks seventh all-time at NC State.
JUMPS
Wolfpack sophomore Zahra Bichara earned fifth place and a new personal best of 5.94m (19'6.00") in the women's long jump - the eighth-best jump in program history for the event.
Jamar Davis finished in sixth in the men's long jump with a best jump of 7.08m (23'2.75").

The Wolfpack continues action at the Bob Pollock Invitational on Saturday, January 27.
