COLUMBIA, S.C. – The No. 19 NC State women's soccer team notched a 0-0 draw at No. 4 South Carolina on Sunday afternoon at Stone Stadium.
The Wolfpack (4-1-3) finished road nonconference action undefeated with a win at Elon and a pair of draws at Nebraska and South Carolina (5-0-3), respectively.
NC State goalkeeper Maria Echezarreta recorded her fourth shutout of the season with two saves. The Wolfpack limited the No. 4 Gamecocks to just two shots on goal in the match.
After a scoreless first half, the Pack recorded a pair of shots in a two-minute span beginning in the 70th minute. NC State cleared a South Carolina corner attempt with Annika Wohner then carrying the ball up the right flank to the Gamecocks' 18-yard box. Wohner cycled the ball over to Mia Vaughan before receiving the ball back right at the top of the box, striking a curling effort just high and wide of the top-left corner.
Brianna Weber followed Wohner's attempt with a shot on goal, forcing a save from Gamecock goalkeeper Heather Hinz.
South Carolina led NC State 2-1 in shots on goal. Strickland, Weber and Wohner each recorded shot attempts for the Wolfpack in the scoreless draw.
