Brockman, Murray Qualify to National Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Wolfpack sprinters Joshua Brockman and Cameron Murray achieved spots at the 2022 NCAA Championships on Friday, posting qualifying performances in the men's 110m hurdles.
DISTANCE
Brett Gardner ran the first distance race of the day for NC State, clocking an 8:43.81 in the 3000m steeplechase to place 15th.
Ian Shanklin and Nate Kawalec competed in the 5000m, placing 16th and 19th, respectively. Shanklin clocked a 13:48.38 while Kawalec recorded a 13:52.35.
JUMPS
NC State was represented in the triple jump by Jamar Davis and Chris Alexander. Davis leaped 15.40m (50' 6.25") to finish 20th while Alexander posted a 13.55m (44' 5.5") for 47th place.
SPRINTS
Alexander Lang, Cameron Murray, Alan Alvarez and Von Douglas opened the day's competition in the 4x100m relay, posting a 39.70 to place 14th.
The Pack's two men's national qualifiers both came out of the 110m hurdles quarterfinals. Joshua Brockman ran a school record-tying time of 13.60, taking third in his heat to automatically qualify to the NCAA Championships. Cameron Murray joined his teammate in qualifying status, clocking a personal-best 13.70 to replace his own third-best program mark and move on to the event semifinals.
