
Track & Field Begins Outdoors at Black & Gold Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. - The NC State track & field programs began the 2022 outdoor season on Friday, competing at the Black & Gold Invitational hosted by UCF.
THROWS
Lance Penegar recorded a PR in the men's discus, placing 11th with his mark of 46.59m (152'10").
JUMPS
Jirah Sidberry was the top finisher for the Pack in the women's long jump, jumping 5.92mw (19'5.25").
Mikieja Covington recorded a personal best in the women's long jump, posting a 5.55m (18'2.5") mark. Zahra Bichara (5.43mw, 17'9.75") and Nahsheeda Facey (5.19m, 17'0.5") made their outdoors career debuts in the event.
On the men's side, the first and second finishers in the long jump were both members of the Wolfpack. Von Douglas jumped 7.66m (25'1.75") for first place, a personal best and the fifth-best mark in program history.
Jamar Davis brought home second place in the event with a PR of 7.63m (25'0.5") mark. His jump checks into the NC State record book as the sixth-farthest in Wolfpack history.
Marcus Odums and William Sistruck both competed in outdoors for the first time in their careers. Odums posted a long jump mark of 7.10m (23'3.5") while Sistruck charted a 7.06m (23'2").
