NC State to Continue Indoor Track Season at Virginia Tech Invitational

RALEIGH - The NC State track & field programs are slated to compete for the first time in 2022 Friday, Jan. 14-Saturday, Jan. 15 at the Virginia Tech Invitational.
Thirty student-athletes will suit up to compete in 18 events for the Wolfpack in Blacksburg.

The Wolfpack opened the season at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener and the Winston-Salem College Kick-Off.
Four NC State competitors ran times under school records at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. Katelyn Tuohy clocked an 8:54.18 in the women's 3000m to set a personal, school, ACC and American U20 records. Tuohy was joined in a school record-breaking time by Sam Bush, who posted an 8:54.37.
Kelsey Chmiel took down the women's 5000m program record, running a 15:27.36 that beat the previous school record by 16 seconds. Allie Hays' mark of 15:33.84 also checked in below the prior NC State record.
At the Winston-Salem College Kick-Off, Mahkayla Hart threw a 13.06m (42'10.25") in the women's shot put for the ninth-best program mark. The throw was a career best
Graduate transfer Andrew Haberman laced up for the Pack for the first time at the meet, notching a career-best weight throw mark of 17.19m (56'4.75") and earning a third-place finish.
