Steelman Earns Personal, School, Facility and Meet Records in Steeplechase ACC Championship Win

RALEIGH - The Wolfpack track & field squads tabbed another strong outing on the second day of the 2021 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Two members of the team tabbed podium finishes as well as First Team All-ACC honors.
JUMPS
The first event of the day for the Wolfpack was the women's triple jump. Jirah Sidberry tabbed a 12.25m (40'2.25") that checked into the NC State record book as the ninth-best in program history. Sidberry's jump was good for the best in her flight.
Chris Alexander earned a second-place finish in the men's triple jump, recording a 15.75m (51'8.25") in the event. The Charlotte, N.C., native attained First Team All-ACC status with the finish.
SPRINTS
Akira Rhodes clocked a 13.30 in the women's 100m hurdles preliminaries, a time good to earn her a place in Saturday's final.
Brandi Hughes posted a 13.57 that improved her season-best mark and replaced her own fifth-fastest time in the NC State record book.
Ally Henson recorded a personal best, running a 13.95 that was good for the sixth-fastest Wolfpack time in history.
In the men's 110m hurdles preliminaries, Joshua Brockman tabbed a PR of 13.85 that checks into the NC State record book as the sixth-fastest time in program history.
Jada Griffin ran a 54.45 in the women's 400m preliminaries that was good for a personal best. The mark stands as the third-fastest in Wolfpack history.
The men's 100m preliminaries saw Cravont Charleston run a 10.34 that qualified him for Saturday's final. The Atlanta, Ga., native's time was the third-fastest preliminary mark.
Alan Alvarez and Von Douglas each ran PRs in the 100m as well. Alvarez posted a 10.54, and Douglas tabbed a 10.60.
DISTANCE
Hannah Steelman's 9:43.08 in the women's 3000m steeplechase was good to earn her personal, school, facility and meet records. The time marks the second occasion in the 2021 season that Steelman has set a school record in the event.
Steelman's time checks in as the third-fastest in the country.
