Track & Field Ready for ACC Outdoor Championships

RALEIGH - The NC State track & field programs are set to host the 2021 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 13-15 for the first time since 2013.
Spectators will not be permitted at the meet due to COVID-19 precautions.

Forty-four members of the Wolfpack will compete in 27 events.
Currently, members of the NC State track & field teams hold 26 marks that rank in the top 10 in the ACC. Cravont Charleston (200m), Elly Henes (5000m) and Hannah Steelman (3000m steeplechase) each rank at the top of the conference in an eventÂ
LAST TIME OUT
NC State finished up its regular season at Duke Twilight, where it collected eight podium finishes and saw multiple members of the team set PRs.
Anna Vess and Nevada Mareno turned in second-place and third-place performances, respectively, in the women's 800m. Vess ran a 2:09.53 while Mareno clocked a 2:10.94.
In the women's 100m hurdles, Brandi Hughes tabbed third place with her time of 13.58. The time checks in as fifth-quickest in NC State history.
Alexis Postell claimed third in the women's 400m hurdles, completing the race in 1:01.65.Â
The men's 200m saw Henry Young earn a second-place finish with his time of 21.77.
Von Douglas and Chris Alexander each tabbed a podium position in the men's long jump. Douglas' mark of 7.56m (24'9.75") was not only good for first place but also to earn him ACC Field Performer of the Week status.
Alexander jumped 7.37m (24'2.25") for a third-place finish.
UP NEXT
Members of the Wolfpack will travel to Jacksonville, Fla., to compete in the NCAA East Regional meet May 26-29.
