NC State Set for UVA Invite

RALEIGH - The NC State track & field teams are ready to travel to Charlottesville, Va., for the UVA Invite April 2-3. The meet is closed to the public.

The Wolfpack will sent 19 members of its team to the meet, and those 19 student-athletes will compete in 20 events.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State began its outdoor season with a home meet, hosting Raleigh Relays on March 25-27.
Graduate student Cravont Charleston shined for The Wolfpack, breaking the meet and facility records in both the men's 100m and men's 200m. Charleston ran a 10.10 in the 100m that was the second-fastest time in school history and a 20.37 in the 200m that was good for the fifth-quickest spot in the Wolfpack record book. Both times rank in the top five nationally, and his performances at the meet were good to earn him ACC Co-Track Performer of the Week honors.
Sarah LaTour earned the third-fastest time in program history as well as in the country in the women's 3000m steeplechase with her time of 10:04.64.
Akira Rhodes posted a 13.30 in the women's 100m that was the fourth-best mark in NC State history, and in the men's 110m hurdles Cameron Murray ran a 13.78 that was the fifth-best program mark and the sixth-best time in the country.
In the women's 1500m, Katelyn Tuohy and Nevada Mareno each tabbed top-five national times. Tuohy's 4:16.76 ranked third in the country while Mareno's 4:17.32 was good for fifth-best.Â
Sophomore Kelsey Chmiel competed in the women's 10000m, posting a 33:40.20 that checked in as the second-quickest time in the NCAA.

NC State makes the short trip to Durham, N.C., for the Tobacco Road Challenge hosted by Duke April 9-10.
