Track & Field Wraps Up UVA Invite Action With Multiple Podium Finishes

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. - The NC State track & field programs concluded their weekend at the UVA Invite on Saturday, closing out the second outdoors competition of the season.
THROWS
Kayla Beasley was NC State's lone competitor on Friday, and she notched a personal-best 42.77m (140'4") in the women's hammer.
RELAYS
Alan Alvarez, Junpai Dowdy, Alexander Lang and Cameron Murray earned a first-place finish in the men's 4x100m with a time of 40.43.
SPRINTS
Brandi Hughes posted a personal-best performance in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.03, and in the men's 110m hurdles Cameron Murray posted a 14.50 for a first-place finish.
Alvarez collected a third-place finish in the men's 100m with his time of 10.64.
Following up a record-setting performance at Raleigh Relays, Cravont Charleston took first place in the 200m with a time of 20.94.
JUMPS
Von Douglas earned a 7.58m (24'10.5") mark in the men's long jump to tab a first-place finish for the second-straight meet in the event. The jump replaced his own eighth-best long jump in NC State history.

NC State makes the short trip to Durham, N.C., for the Tobacco Road Invite hosted by Duke April 9-10.
