#21 Wolfpack Continues Road Swing Sunday At #7 Georgetown

RALEIGH – No. 21 NC State women's soccer (0-1-0) will continue a four-game road swing Sunday against another ranked opponent, No. 7 Georgetown (1-0-0). Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Shaw Field in Washington, D.C., and the match will be streamed on GUHoyas.com
LAST TIME OUT
NC State opened its season on Thursday evening at No. 15 South Carolina and came up short in a 2-1 result. Despite Krissi Schuster giving the Wolfpack the lead heading into the locker room at halftime, a pair of quick Gamecock goals early on in the second half propelled South Carolina to a victory.
FAMILIAR FACE
Wolfpack assistant coach Steve McKenna will be a familiar face for the Hoyas Sunday, as he served as an assistant at Georgetown in 2013.
SERIES HISTORY
Sunday will be the third time in program history that the teams have met, as the Hoyas own a 2-0-0 ledger.
The squads last met on Aug. 29, 2014, in Washington, and the Pack suffered a 6-0 loss.
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
Georgetown, the Big East preseason favorite for the third consecutive year, picked up a 2-1 win at James Madison on Thursday in its season opener.
The Hoyas finished last year with a 21-1-3 record, setting a program record for most wins in a season. GU advanced to the semifinals of the College Cup for the second time in three years, and fell to North Carolina (1-0 2OT).
