NC State Set for #ACCOTF Championships

RALEIGH – The NC State track and field teams are set to begin postseason competition at the 2019 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held Thursday, May 9 – Saturday, May 11 at Lannigan Field in Charlottesville,Va.
The meet kicks off with the decathlon on Thursday. Field events will take place in the afternoon of each day.
The weekend's action will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra. Former Olympic decathlon gold medalist Dan O'Brien will serve as the color analyst, and he will be a joined by ESPN play-by-play announcer Shawn Kenney.
Distance race analyst David Mitchell, along with Melanie Newman, will serve as the sideline reporters.
2018 #ACCOTF REWIND
The 2018 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships were highlighted by two event titles for the Pack.
The men's 4x100m relay captured their third straight title in the event in 39.38, and Elly Henes was crowned the women's 5,000m champion, recording a 16:13.57 mark.
NC State collected 10 all-conference honors over the course of the weekend.
PACK AT LANNIGAN FIELD IN 2019
The Pack is familiar with this season's ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships venue, competing at the UVA Challenge April 18-20.
Von Douglas took home the men's long jump at the meet, and the men's 4x100m relay team clocked in at 40.29 for a first-place finish.
Cravont Charleston's 10.24 mark in the men's 100m dash earned him gold-medal honors. With a 41'3.25" (12.58m) mark in the women's triple jump, Javonne Antoine also stood atop the podium.
TOP-10 ACC MARKS
The Pack holds 26 top-10 marks on the conference qualifying list: sprints – six, distance – 11, throws – two, and jumps – seven.
Charleston and Lauren Evans lead the conference in the men's 100m dash (10.17) and women's shot put (55'5", 16.89m) respectively.
The Pack is represented with second-best ACC marks in the 3000m steeplechase (Nell Crosby – 10:04.39), long jump and triple jump (Jamar Davis – 24'11.75", 51'0"), and the 200m dash (Gabriele Cunningham – 23.34).
Von Douglas (long jump – 24'11", 7.59m) and Nevada Mareno (1500m – 4:17.45) round out top-three conference marks for the squad.

Athletes who medal (top three) in each individual event will earn First Team All-ACC honors, while those who place fourth through sixth will be named to the Second Team. For the relays, members of each winning relay team will be designated First Team All-ACC, and members of the second and third-place relay teams will earn Second Team honors.
