Pack Collects 10 All-ACC Honors on Final Day at #ACCOTF Championship

Gabriele Cunningham notched three all-acc accolades on Saturday
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The NC State track and field team collected 10 spots on the All-ACC teams on Saturday in the final day of competition at the 2019 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championship, bringing the squad's total to 14 on the weekend.
Gabriele Cunningham notched a bronze-medal performance in the women's 100m hurdles final with a career-best 13.13 mark, registering as the third-fastest event time in NC State history.
Dominique Clairmonte's third-place finish in the women's 5000m earned her First Team All-ACC honors, the first of her track and field career. The redshirt sophomore crossed the finish line in 16:07.86, kicking it into high gear at the end of the race to move into podium placement position.
All running events were moved up four hours on Saturday in anticipation of inclement weather in the area.
Over the course of the championship, six NC State women found a spot on the all-conference squad, the most for the program since 2016. Six Wolfpack men collected all-conference honors on the weekend.
The Florida State women and Virginia Tech men took the team conference titles with 134 points and 123 points respectively.
The NC State women placed sixth with 56 points, its best outdoor finish since 2014. Five members of the women's squad found a place on the podium throughout the weekend (Janel Pate, Lauren Evans, Timara Chapman, Cunningham, Clairmonte), including Evans throwing her way to the shot put title. The NC State men ended the weekend in 13th place.
Sprints: Cunningham would quickly gain her second all-conference accolade of the day in the women's 100m dash. Placing sixth in 11.43, Cunningham posted the Pack's third-best mark in its history.
Cunningham rounded out her day in the women's 200m final, notching a 23.83 for fifth place. The top-10 program performance marked her third all-conference honor of the weekend and the eighth of her career.
Ares Epps finished the men's 800m final with a PR time of 1:51.00, placing fourth for the first all-conference accolade of the freshman's career. His time stands at No. 6 in the school record books.
Distance: Nevada Mareno opened up the distance portion of the day for NC State in the first ACC Championship final of her career. The Raleigh native notched a seventh-place finish in the women's 1500m race with a 4:21.57 mark.
Ian Shanklin recorded a 14:03.95 mark in the men's 5000m final to earn his second consecutive all-conference accolade in the 5000m, having won the ACC Indoor 5000m title.
Jumps: Jamar Davis collected the third all-conference accolade of his young career with a sixth-place finish in the men's triple jump. The freshman's 50'10.75" (15.51m) mark earned him his second top-10 finish of the weekend. Wind-aided, his Saturday jump ranks in the top 10 in the program record books.
Michelle Cobb followed up Davis' performance with a career mark of 42.7.5" (12.99m), claiming fourth place and all-conference status for the third time. On her sixth and final jump, Cobb notched the program's third-best mark.
Throws: Tyson Fortenberry got the Pack off to a successful start on Saturday morning, claiming the first all-conference honors of his career with a sixth-place finish in the men's discus throw. His fifth throw earned him the accolades with a 167'4" (51.01m) mark.
Relays: The women's 4x100m relay clocked in at 45.10, good for the third-best time in school history. The performance was the Pack's best of the season in the event.
On the men's side, the 4x100m relay team's 40.77 mark positioned NC State in eighth place.
