Women’s Soccer Picks Up First ACC Win Of Season Over Boston College

RALEIGH – The NC State women's soccer team picked up its first ACC win of the season on Saturday night, a 2-0 result over Boston College behind goals from Jameese Joseph and Tziarra King at Dail Soccer Stadium.
The Wolfpack improves to 6-4-2 (1-1-2 ACC) while the Eagles fall to 8-3-1 (1-3-0 ACC) on the season.
It was all NC State the entire 90 minutes, outshooting BC 19-5 and placing six shots on goal. The Pack additionally won seven corners to the Eagles' four.
Jessica Berlin collected her third shutout of the season in goal, as she was only forced to make one save in the match.
Joseph put away her second goal of the season in the 36th minute to give the Pack the lead heading into the locker room. Krissi Schuster found her at the top of the penalty box from the right wing, and Joseph's shot snuck between goalkeeper Allie Augur's legs.
King reached double digits in scoring with her 10th of the season, doubling her team's score in the 86th minute off of a double assist from Maxine Blackwood and Paige Griffiths. She now owns 45 career goals and 107 career points, and stands at third by herself in both categories among the Wolfpack record books.
NC State returns to action Oct. 9 when it welcomes top-ranked Virginia to Dail Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., and the contest will be broadcast on Regional Sports Networks (check local listings).
