
Women’s Soccer Set To Host Top-Ranked Virginia Wednesday Night

RALEIGH – Coming off of a dominant 2-0 win over Boston College in its last time out, the NC State women's soccer team (6-4-2, 1-1-2 ACC) is set to host top-ranked Virginia (10-0-2, 2-0-2 ACC) Wednesday at Dail Soccer Stadium in Raleigh. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., and the contest will be broadcast on Regional Sports Networks (check local listings).

LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack picked up its first ACC win of the season on Saturday night, a 2-0 result over Boston College behind goals from Tziarra King and Jameese Joseph.
Jessica Berlin additionally tallied her third shutout of the season in goal, as she only had to make one save the entire 90 minutes.
SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday will be the 44th meeting between the programs, as the Cavaliers own a 27-13-3 advantage in the all-time series.
The last time the teams met was on Oct. 25 last year in Charlottesville, Va., and Virginia won, 2-1.
The last time the Cavaliers traveled to Raleigh (Sept. 15, 2017), the squads battled to a 0-0 (2OT) draw at Dail Soccer Stadium.
RPI
Heading into this week's slate of games, NC State boasts an RPI (rating percentage index) of 22. The Pack's overall schedule has been rated the second-toughest in the nation, while its nonconference schedule was rated the eighth toughest.
KING IS QUEEN
King added to her career totals on Sunday with her late second-half goal. She now owns 45 career goals and 107 career points, and continues to climb the record books as those numbers both rank third all-time at NC State in their respective categories.
King has put away 10 goals this season, and is just one of 18 players in the NCAA to record double digits in the category at this point in the season.
SCOUTING VIRGINIA
The Cavaliers have been the top-ranked team among the United Soccer Coaches poll for the past four weeks. Virginia won every contest in nonconference play, and captured shutout wins over then-No. 16 Virginia Tech and Miami in conference action. Its two draws were verses Wake Forest and Duke.
Diana Ordonez leads the squad and conference with 12 goals and 26 points, while seven other players are multi-goal scorers this season. Laurel Ivory has played a majority of time in goal for Virginia, collecting eight shutouts and allowing just three goals scored on her this year.

The Pack will host No. 20 Virginia Tech Sunday to wrap up a three-game home slate. Kickoff is 5 p.m. at Dail Soccer Stadium and the match will be broadcast on the ACC Network. This will be NC State's fourth and final contest to be aired on the linear network.
