
Klimentova Fires 69 In Final Round Of Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Sophomore Lea Klimentova of the NC State women's golf team went out in style in the final round of the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational at North Carolina's Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C., with a three-under par 69. She was one of four players to shoot in the sixties in the round that eventually brought on wet conditions due to rain in the area.
She finished T57th with a seven-over tournament score of 223, improving 25 spots from where she stood on Saturday.
The Wolfpack finished 17th out of 18 teams with an 896 (+32) after posting its best 18-hole score of the weekend with a 294 (+6) on Sunday. Michigan State (852, -12) took home the tournament title, while Alabama (853, -11) and Ohio State (855, -9) rounded out the podium.
Inja Fric tied with Klimentova in the individual standings after carding a 78 in the final round, and Monika Hartl finished two shots behind her and Klimentova at T70th after shooting a 79 (+7) on Sunday.
Natalie Armbruester matched her career low with an even-par 72 to finish T81st with a 229, while Mim Sangkapong shaved six strokes off of Saturday's round with a 75 to finish T88th with a 235 (+19).
The Pack will wrap up its fall slate Oct. 25-27 at the Landfall Tradition, hosted by UNCW at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.
