
Wolfpack Welcomes #20 Hokies Sunday Night

RALEIGH – NC State women's soccer (6-4-3, 1-1-3 ACC) returns to action Sunday to face another ranked conference opponent in No. 20 Virginia Tech (9-3-1, 1-3-1 ACC) at Dail Soccer Stadium in Raleigh, N.C.
This will be the Wolfpack's fourth and final contest to be broadcast on the ACC Network, as the match is slated for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
SERIES HISTORY
Sunday will be the 15th meeting between NC State and Virginia Tech, as the Hokies own a 9-5-0 advantage in the all-time series.
The teams last met on Oct. 22, 2017, in Blacksburg, Va., and the Pack won, 1-0, in double overtime. Maxine Blackwood put away the game-winning goal.
LAST TIME OUT
In a strong defensive outing by both squads, NC State battled to a 0-0 draw with top-ranked Virginia on Wednesday evening. It was the second time in three years that the two teams have played each other and the match has resulted in a 0-0 draw, as the teams also did on Sept. 15, 2017, in Raleigh.
The entire match was tightly contested, as NC State tallied 13 shots (two on goal) while Virginia had 12 (five on goal). Jessica Berlin notched her fourth shutout of the year in goal, matching her career-high in saves for the third time this season with five.
SCOUTING VIRGINIA TECH
The Hokies have faced four consecutive top 10 opponents in ACC play heading into Sunday, compiling a 0-3-1 record against No. 1 Virginia, No. 9 Clemson, No. 10 Duke and No. 5 Florida State.
Nicole Kozlova (five goals) and Emily Gray (four goals) lead the squad with 10 points each, while Mandy McGlynn has played every minute in goal for the Hokies and has compiled a .75 goals-against average.

NC State will travel to Pittsburgh Sat., Oct 19, for the first of its last two matches on the road in the regular season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.at Ambrose Urbanic Field in Pittsburgh, Pa.
