
Henes Breaks Own School Record at JDL Early Bird Duals

Henes and Clairmonte set PRs, run below ACC Indoor Championships qualifying standard
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Elly Henes outdid her own women's indoor 5000m record in the Wolfpack track and field record books Sunday, as she set the new school record with a non-converted time of 15:41.63 at the JDL Early Bird Duals at the JDL Fast Track.
With her program-best time, Henes placed first overall in the women's indoor 5000m race and set the JDL Fast Track collegiate facility record. She now holds the two fastest marks in the event in NC State history. She was the previous record holder with a time of 15:43.84.
The second-place finisher, Hannah Steelman (Wofford), trailed over 20 seconds behind Henes (16:05.66).

Dominique Clairmonte also took part in the women's indoor 5000m race. She placed fourth with a non-converted time of 16:14.06, which is a new personal-best.
Henes and Clairmonte both hit the ACC Indoor Championships qualifying standard (16:45.17) with their performances on Sunday.
