
Pack Opens Home Slate With Coastal Carolina Thursday

RALEIGH – After a strong start to its season in Oregon last weekend, the NC State women's soccer team (2-0-0) will open its home slate Thursday when it welcomes Coastal Carolina (2-0-0) to Dail Soccer Stadium.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., as the match will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra and live stats will be available.
PROMOTIONS
-Sweet 16 Mini Banner Giveaway - The first 250 fans in attendance will receive a mini banner commemorating the Wolfpack's run to the Sweet 16 during the 2016 season.
-Student Wolfpack Club night.
PARKING
In order to avoid traffic, fans can refer to this turn-by-turn Waze map to park in the Reynolds Coliseum Deck.
TICKETS
Single-match tickets as well as season tickets are still on sale for the 2017 season, which features 10 home matches.
SERIES HISTORY
Thursday will mark the third time the squads have met in program history, as the Chanticleers holds a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series. The teams last met on Sept. 16, 2015 at CCU Soccer Stadium where Coastal earned a 2-1 win in overtime.
KING NAMED TO TDS TEAM OF THE WEEK
Sophomore Tziarra King landed on TopDrawerSoccer.com's Team of the Week after a stellar opening weekend of play. The team consists of the top individual performances from the previous weekend's contests.
She chipped in two assists at Oregon and scored the game winner at Portland.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
NC State is nationally ranked in this week's United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA) and TDS polls, checking in at No. 25 on United Soccer Coaches and 21st on TDS.
The Pack was also ranked 15th on AllWhiteKit.com's preseason poll, which was released Aug. 18.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack opened its season on the west coast last weekend, picking up a 4-1 win over Oregon on Friday and 1-0 win at Portland on Sunday.
In the team's match with the Ducks, Paige Griffiths, Krissi Schuster, Kia Rankin and Maxine Blackwood scored one goal piece while King chipped in two assists and Naomi Powell and Ricci Walkling each had one.
On Sunday King scored a goal in the 51st minute on a fast break across the middle of the field, finishing from 15 yards inside the left post.
SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS
Coastal Carolina also opened its season on the road last weekend, shutting out Wofford 3-0 and defeating College of Charleston 2-1. After Thursday's matchup the Chanticleers will have a four-match home slate before traveling to Georgia Sept. 10.
Sun Belt Preseason Player of the Year Daniella Famili leads the team with three goals and six points, while Mackenzie Gibbs and Brooke Horist have each scored once this season.
