LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After winning its first game of the 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Baseball Championship, NC State will battle second-ranked UNC-Chapel Hill Friday night at 7 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field. The winner will advance to the semifinals to face the winner of Pool C at 5 p.m. Saturday evening.

The contest will be broadcast live on Regional Sports Networks (RSN) and on the ACC Network Extra (Subject to blackout in TV coverage areas). Radio coverage will also be available on WKNC 88.1 and on GoPack.com for premium subscribers.

NC State enters the matchup with a 34-22 overall record, while UNC-Chapel Hill is 45-11.

Last Time Out
The Wolfpack opened play in the ACC Championship with a 6-1 win against Boston College, as Johnny Piedmonte threw five innings to earn the win on the mound and move to 7-0 on the year. Brett Kinneman hit a three-run homer late in the game to help seal the win for the Pack.

UNC-CH cruised past Boston College in its first game of the championship with a 10-0 victory.

NC State – UNC-Chapel Hill in the ACC Championship
NC State and UNC-Chapel Hill have met 22 times in the ACC Championship and have split those contests. The squads last met during the postseason event in 2014 in Greensboro when the Tar Heels won, 4-0, in a 12-inning game.

The Series
The Tar Heels lead the all-time series, 163-132-1, but NC State won the most recent matchup with a 4-2 win in the series finale on April 16.

Scouting UNC-Chapel Hill
UNC-CH heads into Friday night's contest having won five of its last six games, including a three-game winning streak. The Tar Heels were the regular season champion in the ACC's Coastal Division with a program best 23 conference wins.

The Heels own a .283 batting average at the plate to go along with 7.13 runs per game and 9.61 hits per contest. Logan Warmoth headlines the squad with a .346 clip at the dish complemented by 83 hits, 19 doubles and nine homers – all team highs.

UNC-CH pitchers have compiled the second-best ERA in the conference with a 2.85 mark. Heels' pitchers are averaging 8.66 strikeouts per game. Friday starter J.B. Bukauskas is 8-0 on the season with a 1.87 ERA.
