Gymnastics Set for Senior Night, Visit to George Washington

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State gymnastics team will compete twice this weekend, hosting Towson for senior night on Friday and traveling for a quad meet against George Washington with Stanford and Yale on Sunday.

The team will open the weekend inside Reynolds Coliseum Friday March 10th at 7 p.m. The Pack will honor seniors Hannah Sobhan, Amanda Fillard and Courtney Leighton in a ceremony before the meet. NC State will host EAGL opponent Towson for the first time this season.

On Sunday, the team will compete at The Charles E. Smith Center in Washington, D.C., at 1 p.m. The Pack will take on George Washington for the second time in three weeks, as well as face Stanford and Yale for the first time this season.

Last Time Out:
NC State set a season high 48.800 on beam to conclude the dual against Southern Utah. Overall, the Pack finished second and posted a 191.625 against the Firebirds.

Scouting Towson:
Towson enters the meet ranked 42nd in the team standings. The EAGL opponent has a Regional Qualifying Score(RQS) of 194.640 and a season high of 195.675. The Tigers are 7-11 on the season and most recently finished fourth at a quad meet against Pitt with West Virginia and Michigan State, posting a score of 194.400.

Scouting George Washington:
George Washington is ranked 18th in the latest national poll, marking the seventh top-25 opponent the Pack has faced this season. George Washington has a RQS of 196.215 and a season best of 196.725. The team has a 21-4 record and has won five straight with the most recent victory coming in a quad meet at West Virginia with Pittsburgh and Eastern Michigan.

Scouting Stanford:
Stanford is just three spots from cracking the top-25, checking in at No. 28 in the nation. The Cardinal has a RQS of 195.610 and has posted a season best of 196.325. Stanford has a record of 6-8 and enters the meet after facing three top-10 teams in its last four competitions.

Scouting Yale:
Yale enters the weekend ranked 61st with a RQS of 192.735 and a season high of 193.500. Yale holds a 9-10-1 record. Most recently, Yale finished tied for second in a tri-meet against New Hampshire with Brown.

Pack in the Polls:
NC State is ranked 44th in the national poll with a RQS of 194.475 and a season-best of 195.550. The Pack enters the meet with a 6-11 record. Individually, Chelsea Knight leads the team at No. 46 in the all-around national lists with a RQS of 39.000. Paris Phillips checks in at No. 63 with a RQS of 38.805. Knight also leads the team on vault with a RQS of 9.810 and bars with an RQS of 9.845.
