RALEIGH, N.C. – The 20th-ranked NC State baseball team heads to Wilmington for a midweek matchup against the UNCW Seahawks Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. at Brooks Field.

NC State enters the contest with a 6-6 overall record, while UNCW owns a 3-7 ledger.

Last Time Out
In its last outing, NC State dropped a 9-8 decision against Western Carolina at home. The Wolfpack trailed early, but made a late surge and had the tying run aboard in the eighth and ninth inning but came up short against the Catamounts.

UNCW was defeated by Florida Gulf Coast, 10-1, in the most recent outing for the Seahawks on Sunday. The Eagles also won Friday and Saturday's games to sweep the series with UNCW.

Wolfpack junior shortstop Joe Dunand extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a single in the third inning against Western Carolina on Monday. The streak started against Hawai'i in the series finale and Dunand has kept it rolling.

Also, freshman Will Wilson stretched his hitting streak to seven games against the Catamounts with his single in the third.
Deatherage in Center Field
Junior Brock Deatherage made his first start of the season in center field Monday afternoon and made an excellent defensive play to earn a spot on the SportsCenter top 10 plays. His diving grab checked in at No. 7 on the list.

It was his fourth collegiate start in center field, as he started two games at the position a season ago and one in his freshman campaign.Â

NC State has scored 14 runs in the sixth inning this season, the most in any inning this year.
