#Pack9 Offense Explodes for 15-10 Win at Charlotte

NC State scores a season-high 15 runs, tallies a season-high 15 hits
The Wolfpack's offense erupted for 15 hits and 15 runs, both of which are season-highs. Each batter in the NC State starting lineup had at least one hit and eight of nine batters scored a run, highlighted by six players with two runs scored.
NC State moves to 14-12 on the year, while Charlotte falls to 15-10. Joe O'Donnell picked up the win for the Pack and remains unbeaten at 4-0 and 49ers starter Jacob Craver suffered his first loss (0-1).
Game Recap
NC State struck first in the contest on a sacrifice fly to right field by Brad Debo to take a 1-0 lead. The Wolfpack erupted for seven runs in the fourth inning, the most it has scored in an inning this season, sending 11 batters to the plate in the frame.
Dunand led off with a solo homer to left field to give NCSU a 2-0 lead. Josh McLain recorded an RBI single with the bases loaded and Debo stepped to the plate next ripped a bases-clearing double down the left field line to put the Wolfpack ahead, 6-0.

Andy Cosgrove dropped a two-RBI single into center field to plate two additional runs for NC State, extending the advantage to 8-0.
In the fifth inning, Will Wilson clubbed a triple to right center to score Jack Conley from first base and McLain followed with a double to plate Wilson. A two-run homer by Debo over the left field wall stretched the NC State lead to 12-0.

After Evan Mendoza walked, Dunand left the yard for the second time with his team-leading ninth home run to extend the Wolfpack lead to 14-0. It was the first multi-homer game of his collegiate career and the first of the season by an NC State player.

Charlotte countered in the bottom of the inning with seven runs to narrow the deficit to 14-7. The Wolfpack went quietly in the top of the sixth and the 49ers added another run in the bottom half to pull closer at 14-8.
An RBI single and an error helped Charlotte trim the NC State lead to 14-10 in the bottom of the seventh.
NC State regained momentum in the game after Christian Demby hit a pinch-hit double down the left field line with two outs. Lawson McArthur came in to pinch-run and scored on a single through the left side by Stephen Pitarra to push the Wolfpack lead to 15-10.
The 49ers looked to mount a rally in the eighth and ninth innings, but Wolfpack pitcher Austin Staley induced a pair of double play ball in each frame to halt the rally.
Inside the Box Score
- Debo turned in the second three-hit performance of his young career to lead the Wolfpack at the plate with a 3-for-4 showing, highlighted by six RBIs and two runs scored. His six RBIs are the most by an NC State player this season.
- Conley, Dunand and McLain had two hits each, while Cosgrove, Demby, Brett Kinneman, Mendoza, Pitarra and Wilson had one hit apiece.
Game Notes
- NC State scored 15 runs and recorded an RBI on all 15.
- It was the first multi-homer game for an NC State player since April 12,2016, when Chance Shepard left the yard twice at Elon.
- The Wolfpack's 15 hits ties a season-high, as the squad also reached the mark at UNCG.
- NCSU's 15 runs are the most for the squad since June 5, 2016, when the Pack defeated Navy in the NCAA Regional, 17-1.
