RALEIGH, N.C. – After splitting a pair of midweek games, the sixth-ranked NC State baseball team is set to play three games this weekend. The Wolfpack will play Rhode Island at home Friday, Maryland on Saturday at the USA Baseball Complex and UMass Lowell Sunday afternoon, also at home.
Friday's game against the Rams is slated for 3 p.m. at Doak Field at Dail Park, while the Wolfpack will play Maryland Saturday at 4:30 p.m. as part of the Irish Classic hosted by Notre Dame in Cary, N.C., at the USA Baseball Complex. First pitch of Sunday's contest versus UMass Lowell is set for 1 p.m.
Both of the Pack's home games (Friday and Sunday) will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra. There will not be a live stream of Saturday's game, but fans can listen to all three games this weekend with radio coverage on WKNC 88.1 FM and on GoPack.com for premium subscribers.
NC State heads into the weekend with a 5-3 overall record, while Rhode Island is 3-4 and Maryland is 1-5. The River Hawks of UMass Lowell currently own a 3-4 ledger.
Last Time Out
In its last outing, NC State dropped a narrow 6-5 decision against Charlotte on Wednesday night at home. The Wolfpack took an early lead, but the 49ers scored a few runs late to earn the victory.

Josh McLain has recorded at least one hit in every game this season to own an eight-game hitting streak. The Wolfpack junior owns a .367 batting average to go along with a team-high 11 hits.

Friday's game will be the fifth meeting between the programs, as NC State leads the all-time series, 4-1. The teams last met in 2009 when the Wolfpack dropped an 11-8 decision at home to open the season.
The Rams won the 2016 Atlantic 10 Conference Championship and were selected to repeat in the conference's preseason poll by the league's head coaches.
Rhode Island owns a team batting average of .278 and has limited its opponents to a .231 clip. Chris Hess leads the team at the plate with a .393 average complemented by a team-best 11 hits. On the mound, Rams pitchers have compiled a 5.16 ERA and Friday starter Tyler Wilson is two-time A10 Pitcher of the Year and was named a Preseason All-American.

Maryland has played a very challenging slate to start the season and as a result, owns a 1-5 record. The Terrapins were swept by No. 5 LSU in Baton Rouge, dropping their most recent outing to the Tigers, 9-5, on Sunday afternoon.
NC State and Maryland last met in 2014, when the Terps garnered a 5-2 win in Raleigh. The Wolfpack leads the all-time series, 103-59-2.
The Terps were picked as the preseason favorite to win the Big Ten by the league's head coaches. Maryland has a team batting average of .243, while opponents have managed a .332 clip against them. Marty Costes paces the squad at the plate with a .423 average and 11 hits.
