Three Reasons to See This Team
1. NC State sits No. 6 in the NCAA's RPI, peaking at No. 13 in the national polls. A national seed would be the program's first. The Pack seeks its third hosting gig in the last five seasons.

2. Six Wolfpack batters have 50 or more hits in 2016, with Stephen Pitarra two shy of crossing the mark and Chance Shepard one hit short. During 2012's Super Regional run and 2013's trip to Omaha, the Pack had seven batters with 50+.

3. Evan Mendoza's 23-game hitting streak marks the third-longest in NC State history. The sophomore third baseman would tie Greg Briley's school-record 26-game hitting streak from 1986 if he makes it through the weekend. Mendoza has been nominated for the Gregg Olson Award, recognizing the nation's top breakout player.
