
NC State Sets School Records, National Marks on Final Day of Virginia Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The NC State track and field team set two school records and five national top-25 times to conclude the Virginia Challenge on Saturday.
Alexis Perry highlighted the meet with a long lump school record (21'6.75") and season best mark in the 100m hurdles (13.15). Her long jump mark leads the nation, while her hurdles mark is now ranked 14th. Megan Moye set the 1,500m school record (4:15.05) for the second week in a row and moved to fourth in the nation in the event.
On the men's side, Graham Crawford ran the seventh-fastest 1,500m time (3:40.69) in the NCAA and Quashawn Cunningham added the nation's 25th best mark in the 200m dash (20.72).
Jumps:
Led by Perry, the women's jumpers put together a strong overall performance, notching two personal bests. Perry's improved school record of 21'6.75" vaults her from 20th to first in the NCAA. The jump extends her school record by 4.75", which was previously set in 2014.
Javonne Antoine also earned a personal best in the event, finishing fifth with a jump of 19'4.00". The mark qualifies her for the ACC Championships in the event and is tied for 10th in the ACC. Imari McLean also added a solid jump, finishing 14th and just inches away from her PR with a leap of 17'11.00"
In the men's high jump, Christopher Garrick cleared the 7-foot mark for the first time in his collegiate career with a mark of 7'0.25". Garrick is the second jumper in the conference to join the seven-foot club this season. His mark is second in the ACC and tied for 19th in the East.
Throws:
The Wolfpack took two of the top-three spots in the women's shot put, as Lauren Evans finished second with a throw of 47'5.75" and Alyssa Dunn took third with a PR of 47'1.50.
Sprints:
For the second straight day, Cunningham added a national top-25 mark. The sophomore ran a 200m PR of 20.72 to finish as the top collegiate athlete in the event. The mark is a .22 improvement on his best and ranks second in the conference, 15th in the East and 25th in the nation.
Shannon Patterson finished 13th in 21.41 and Brandon McLean posted a season-high mark of 21.64.

Hurdles:
Perry started her day in the 100m hurdles, earning a season-best time of 13.15 to finish fifth overall. The mark moves the Durham, N.C., native to third in the ACC, eighth in the East and tied for 14th in the nation. It is her fastest wind-legal mark in her career and just .01 from her PR.
In the 400m hurdles, Tiana Patillo earned a PR and narrowly missed the ACC qualifying mark with a time of 1:02.57.
Mid-Distance:
Just a few weeks after running national top-25 5,000m races, Crawford and Meron Simon added a pair of speedy 1,500m marks to their season resume. Crawford led the pair with a time of 3:40.69. The mark moves him from 95th to 7th in the national standings.
Simon added a personal best, taking 12th in the highly competitive event with a time of 3:43.89. The mark is nearly a two-second PR for the senior transfer and is ranked fifth in the ACC.
On the women's side, Moye extended her new school record by more than half a second, finishing second with a time of 4:15.05. Last weekend, Moye broke the record in the event to move into the national lists. Her time today vaults her from ninth to fourth in the NCAA.
Distance:
All three Wolfpack men posted 5,000m personal bests. Sebastian Hanson led the way, finishing seventh in 14:08.14. Sam Parsons took 12th in 14:11.19 to earn an ACC qualifying mark in the event and Patrick Sheehan posted a four-second improvement with a time of 14:20.27.
In the women's 5,000m, Alyssa Rudawsky recorded a 24-second PR with a time of 16:26.27. The mark qualifies her for the ACC Championships.
