Three Reasons to See This Team
1. Sixth-year senior Chris Williams changed his approach to sidearm this offseason, and through six appearances it seems to be working. Among the Wolfpack pitching staff, Williams has thrown the most innings (13.1 IP) without allowing an earned run. Newcomers Kyle Smith and Christian Demby have not allowed an earned run in a combined five innings. Williams comes from a Wolfpack family, went to Athens Drive, and sports a 2-0 record, emerging as one of the young season's best stories.

2. NC State's 21 homers rank second in the ACC behind Pitt's 23. Chance Shepard owns seven of those, tied for tops in the league with Clemson's Seth Beer and Wake's Will Craig. Shepard sits two back of national leaders Jake Burger from Missouri State and Heath Quinn of Samford.

3. Josh McLain and Brock Deatherage led the Wolfpack in hitting versus Boston College, batting .375 and .333 respectively against a tournament quality pitching staff. The speedsters bookended the Pack order over the weekend, producing two runs, six hits, and five walks between them. McLain hasn't committed an error in 42 chances manning center field.
