NC State baseball used a seven-run rally in the fourth to race past the Sycamores
The Wolfpack (14-4) fell behind 1-0 in the top first on an Indiana State (10-6) solo homer to left center. NC State knotted the score 1-1 in the second on three singles. The Pack poured on seven runs in the fourth to take command. Indiana State added single runs in the sixth and ninth to set the final 8-3.
Joe Dunand led the way going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBIs, and his seventh double of the year. Brock Deatherage went 2-for-5 with a run in the leadoff spot.
Shane Shepard tripled in a 1-for-4 outing with a run. Evan Mendoza submitted a 2-for-5 evening with a run. Josh McLain scored once and drove in one in a 2-for-4 performance.
Tommy DeJuneas scored once and drove in a run. Chance Shepard had a homer robbed by the top of the left center fence, finishing with a single, a run, an RBI, and a walk. Storm Edwards contributed an RBI single in his first college at-bat, adding a walk.
Wolfpack starter Ryan Williamson (3-0) scored the win on five innings, allowing two earned on three walks and two hits with four punchouts. Austin Staley was the first reliever out of the pen, working 2/3 with a strikeout.
Chris Williams continued to perform well, scattering two hits over the next two innings with one strikeout. Sean Adler closed the door on one earned over the final 1 1/3.
