
NC State Men 4th, Women 7th at ACC Indoor Championships

BOSTON- The NC State No. 8 women's and No. 18 men's track and field team concluded the ACC Championships on Saturday, as the women finished 7th with 42 points and the men finished fourth with 62 points -- its highest team finish in five years.

The Pack earned four medals and had nine earn All-ACC honors on the final day of competition.

The men's fourth-place finish marks a five-spot improvement from 2015, when the team finished ninth.
Â
Jumps:
Javonne Antoine opened the meet and earned Second-Team All-ACC honors and scored five points for the women's team with a fourth-place finish in the triple jump. Antoine has moved up four spots in the standings after an eighth-place finish in 2015.

Her mark of 40'11.75" is the second time she has cracked the 40' mark this season. It is also the third ACC meet in a row the jumper has scored points for the team.

Sprints/Hurdles:
Alexis Perry earned a podium finish in the 60m hurdles, finishing third and improving her PR to 8.21. The mark moves her up in the national standings from 18th to 17th.

Yesterday, Perry finished fifth in the long jump. She wraps up the meet with an First-Team All-ACC honors, Second-Team All-ACC honors and 10 team points.

NC State added 23 points from the men's sprints with 11 points from the 60m dash, 11 points from the 200m dash and one point from the 400m dash.

Quashawn Cunningham medaled for the Pack in the 60m, taking third in 6.76 for a new PR and six points for the men's team. Nyheim Hines finished sixth in 6.79 to earn second-team All-ACC honors and Jonathan Addison took 7th in 6.83.

Cunningham added a silver medal in the 200m dash, with a new PR of 21.26. Patterson finished third in his heat and sixth overall, crossing the finish line in 21.52 for a PR. Patterson's finish earned the men's team three points.

Will Krehnbrink took eighth in the 400m, crossing the finish line 48.81.

The men's 4x400 closed out the meet with a sixth-place finish of 3:15.03. Brian Davis logged the first 400m in 49.39, Shannon Patterson ran the fastest 400m split as the second leg in 48.31. Cunningham completed the third leg in 48.45 and Will Krehnbrink anchored the team in 48.89.

Mid-Distance:
Both of the Pack's milers finished as All-ACC Selections. Megan Moye opened the track events for the Pack, finishing second in the mile for a silver medal and First-Team All-ACC Honors. Moye crossed the finish line in 4:37.44, which is just under her school record pace and national qualifying mark.

In the men's race, Crawford finished fourth in 4:03.19. He settled in with the front group, staying within the top-five for the whole race. The Burlington, N.C., native closed final 400m in 57.92, which included a 28 second split on his final 200m lap around the track. He earned Second-Team All-ACC honors with the finish.

Distance:
Just after winning the silver medal in the mile, Megan Moye added second-team All-ACC honors with a dominating performance in the 3,000m race. Moye ran in the opening heat of the race, jumping out to a huge lead and crossing in the finish line almost eight seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Moye finished fourth in the overall event in 9:22.80, earning a massive PR by almost 32 seconds.

Rachel Koon finished 15th overall and 11th in her heat, crossing the finishing line in 9:34.03.

On the men's side, NC State scored points from the opening heat, as Meron Simon took seventh overall and first in his heat with a time of 8:08.94. Sebastian Hanson was just seconds short of scoring points for the Pack, finishing 11th in 8:10.39. Patrick Sheehan paced Simon and Hanson to the first and second-place sweep in the opening heat.

Simon, Hanson and true freshman Philip Hall all earned PRs in the event. Hall crossed the finish line in 8:20.62.
