RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State track and field team will send groups of athletes to Winston-Salem, N.C., for the Camel City Elite and Nashville, Tenn., for the Vanderbilt Invitational. NC State will compete at both meets Friday and Saturday.

Camel City:
Several athletes will run in distance and mid distance events on Friday. Rebekah Greengrass and Esther Fisher will run in uniform, while Megan Vaughn, Bethany Neeley, Theresa Enright, Bella Smith, Ben Barrett and Tanis Baldwin are slated to compete unattached.

On Saturday, five distance runners will line up in elite races against professional athletes. Erika Kemp and Wesley Frazier will compete in the women's 3,000m elite race against a field that includes five professionals and four collegiate athletes.

The race marks a career debut for Frazier, who transferred in from Duke. Frazier won the Raleigh Relay's 5,000m race during last outdoor season and finished second at the 2015 adidas XC Challenge in September.

Erika Kemp is off to a quick start to the indoor season. She broke a 24-year school record with her nation-leading time of 15:45.46 in the 5,000m. Kemp will look to add another strong race to her resume. She currently holds a 3,000m PR of 9:24.36.

On the men's side, Luis Vargas will represent the Pack in the 3,000m elite race. Vargas will run against a loaded field, including four professionals and six of the country's elite collegiate athletes.

In mid-distance events, Graham Crawford and Megan Moye will run in the mile. The race features four men with sub-four minute miles and two women with sub-4:30 miles. Both Moye and Crawford are making their season debuts.

Vanderbilt Invitational:
The Pack will take 47 student-athletes to compete at the Vanderbilt Invitational. The two-day meet features 20 participating schools. A portion of the team will aim to continue their strong debuts from the Carolina Cup, while 20 athletes will make their season debuts.
All-Americans in Action:
Nicole Chavis, two-time weight throw All-American, steps back in to the ring for the weight throw. Chavis already holds the nation's fifth-best mark of 67'6.00". Long jump All-American's Jonathan Addison and Alexis Perry will compete in the long jump for the first time this season.

 On the track,100m hurdles All-American, Perry, will line up for the 60m hurdles. Tiana Patillo, a member of the 2014-15 DMR All-American team will continue her season with the 200m and 400m races. Washington transfer and two-time All-American Meron Simon will race in the mile.

Career Debuts:
True freshmen Philip Hall (Mile), Sarah Kanney (Mile) Nyheim Hines (60m), Gabriele Cunningham (60mH, 60m) redshirt freshmen Patrick Sheehan (3,000m) Zack Langston (3,000m), Aaron Thomas (3,000m) and Bianca Bishop (3,000m) along with fifth-year senior Simon (mile), will also race in uniform on the track for the first time.

After a majority of the throws, sprints, jumps and hurdles groups made season debuts at the Carolina Cup, a group of distance runners will open their season at Vanderbilt.

In addition to the group's career debuts, Bakri Abushouk, Sebastian Hanson and Nick Link will run in the mile, while mid-distance specialist Megan Rempel will compete in the mile race on the women's side. Alexa Harvey, Alyssa Rudawsky, and Olivia Enright will make season debuts in the 3,000m race, while Rachel Koon will run in her second race of the indoor season.

Building on Momentum:
Most of the Pack's throwers, hurdlers, jumpers and sprinters will compete for the second time this season. The group is coming off a successful outing at the Carolina Cup, which included 11 ACC qualifying marks. Several members of the team also earned personal bests at the meet.
