Raleigh, N. C.- Heath Andrews pitched seven strong innings, and No. 10 NC State used a three- run fifth inning to secure its first ACC series of the season with a 5-1 victory over Boston College on Sunday afternoon at the Doak. It was the fourth straight series win over Boston College in Raleigh.Â
Twelve days had passed since Andrews (2-0) took the mound after starting against Coastal Carolina on March 3 rd. Andrews didn't miss a beat, allowing just one unearned run on seven hits, with one walk and four strikeouts.
All three starting pitchers for NC State (16-4, 2-1) pitched seven innings this weekend and combined to allow only five runs (four earned). Andrews' s seven innings tied his career high.

The Eagles (11-8, 3-3) were 0- for- 6 with runners in scoring position and 0-for- 13 with a runner on base. Their only run came in the top of the third after a throwing error by NC State allowed the runner on first to score.
In a 1-1 game, in the bottom of the fifth, back- to- back walks by Sherman Johnson and Drew Lanphere started the inning, and a bunt single from Rett Johnson loaded the bases with no outs.
Mikey Ryan, in a 2-2 count, hit a double to left field to drive in two runs and put the Pack ahead, and Brayden Frassman added a third run with an RBI single to make it 4-1.
Chris McHugh went 2- for- 3 with a double and an RBI, while Johnson finished 2- for- 3, ending the three- game series with a .778 batting average, seven hits, three runs scored, one RBI, two walks, and a stolen base.
Andrews fought out of multiple jams all afternoon, leaving runners in scoring position in the fifth and seventh innings.
McHugh tied the game in the bottom of the fourth with a sacrifice fly. Coming into the weekend, the Pack led the ACC and was second in the nation in sacrifice flies, with 21 on the season after Sunday's game.
Sunday's game concludes the Wolfpack's 18-game homestand as they prepare to hit the road for the first true road test of the season against UNCW in Wilmington on Tuesday, March 17th at 6 p. m.
